in the Natural Leviathan au, she doesn’t have the jealousy towards him and kinda finds comfort the two of them are in the same boat of “playing human”

it’s kinda how they bonded a lot faster in that AU versus how they have such a drawn-out relationship despite how much they click in the main TLC fic; because she holds Snatcher at a bit of a distance

and while NL Eclipse had a harder time coming to terms to trust NL Ru since he IS a leviathan and she’s heard such nasty things about them; he’s just so genuine with everything even his past (he openly tells her he HAS hurt people and does get a little feral when he’s hungry but he’s working on it) they get along better with both being monsters

plus like in that AU Hattie is aware her mom’s a monster from the get go so there’s no added jealousy of “a natural born human is a better parent than a mosnter pretending to be human”

See the thing Eclipse kinda forgets about herself is she’s.... she is human. she’s not a beast pretending to be human. Like even tho she has magic and is cursed she’s far more human than like. Hattie technically is (not that she knows)

Like Hattie’s father was a full blooded merman; he just became human via magic and there WAS a chance Hattie wouldn’t have come out human but as a half mer; but she did come out full human just inheriting both parents magic draw and calming effect.

Eclipse’s family is about 12ish generations of bred out fae blood. Like Estelle’s brother Dormir; who is Eclipse’s actual ancestor; he was a full fae (half elf/half horizon grim) but he married and had his son with a human; that son married a human and had a son, so on and so forth until you get to Eclipse

technically speaking; had Eclipse not been born as Estelle’s reincarnation her curse would have been bred out in her generation and she would have just been able to see fairies and ghosts but she wouldn’t transform or cast magic. Like her father, Fenrir. He could only take a wolf form on full moons. Meanwhile, Eclipse can full ass shift any time she desires.

had Eclipse been cursed after being born human and met Snatcher in the same boat she would have definitely not been jealous at all and would heavy sympathize with him and try to help him. she probs would just laugh at their odds and everything.
